David Gray has been touring for over two decades, but yesterday for the first time he took part in a ‘Live on Letterman’ concert. The British singer-songwriter took to the legendary Ed Sullivan Theater stage to perform some his biggest hits as well as some new music off of his latest album Mutineers.
Mutineers is David’s first album in four years and was created with the help of producer Andy Barlow. Before starting his concert, David spoke in an interview with CBS about working with Barlow, the success of “Babylon” and the process of writing and recording the latest album.
His performance included songs such as “Birds Of The High Arc”, “Gulls”, “My Oh My”, “Sail Away” and “The One I Love”. Check out the 44:30 mark to watch him perform his 1998 hit “Babylon”.
David’s new tour (his first in over 4 years) will swing through the Twin Cities for a show at Northrop on October 14th. Tickets go on sale to the public next Friday (8/8) at 10am through Tickets.UMN.edu, but you can win them before you can buy them by tuning in all next week to Oake + Keri at 7:20am and Paul Fletcher each afternoon at 4:20pm!
