We would travel throughout space and time to find a great donut—let's be real. But luckily, Krispy Kreme exists so we don't have to! The donut chain is getting some major inspiration from outer space for its latest creation, specifically from NASA’s Perseverance Rover.

Krispy Kreme is marking the occasion of the rover landing on Mars with an extremely limited-edition donut that looks like the planet itself. It's aptly named the "Mars Doughnut" and it will only be available in participating Krispy Kreme shops for one day. The out-of-this-world creation is a Chocolate Kreme-filled doughnut dipped in caramel icing with a red planet swirl and sprinkled with chocolate cookie crumbs.

The Perseverance is landing this Thursday, February 18, in Mars’ Jezero Crater, so that's when the donut will be available in shops. The rover will also be carrying the names of almost 11 million people who participated in NASA’s "Send Your Name to Mars" program and Krispy Kreme has an exciting surprise for those people. In addition to your name being in SPACE (how cool are you, by the way??), Krispy Kreme will also give you this Mars donut for FREE. All you have to do to get one is to show your NASA-issued Mars 2020 Perseverance “boarding pass” to redeem.

Head to your local participating Krispy Kreme on Thursday to get a Mars donut of your very own and feel like a regular space explorer...just, you know, without all the freeze-dried food. Donuts are way better anyway!! Oh, and on Thursday, you can stream the rover's landing here. Preferably with a donut in hand!!
