Throwback Thursday (#tbt) Mother's Day Edition

I think it's safe to say that i put my Mom through the ringer a little bit, as i was growing up. But, then again, who didn't, right?

My mom homeschooled me from 1st-3rd grade, and i MAY have "lost" (hidden) my school books in order to get out of having to do the lessons. Didn't work, though. Somehow, moms always get to the bottom of it, don't they?

A little over a year ago, we descovered my Mom has ovarian cancer. I love this picture, because, among other things, she has all her hair. It's funny the things you don't notice until it's not there anymore.

I got married in October, and i was SO grateful that she was healthy enough to come, and be with us that day.

She's kicking cancer's ass, and i couldn't be more proud of her. She personifies grace under pressure, faith in action, and I'm so grateful to have her as my mom. - Keri

Here is my mom, Judy. She is the one with the dark hair looking at the camera.

Before you say anything, I know, she was a total hottie. But she was, and still is, much more than that. She is the person who taught me to value compassion. She is the person who showed me the grace of forgiveness. She taught me the importance of a kind heart. Above all, she made me understand love. In the way she talked, in the way she listened, in everything she did.

Also, she fed me a LOT as a baby.

Yep, that's me and my mom, kickin' it poolside.

Thanks for everything, Mom. I love you. - Oake
