Following their 2009 debut album Sigh No More, Mumford and Sons have released the title of their upcoming album, Babel. A year and a half in the making, their sophomore debut was mostly written on the road and in between soundtracks.
Touring almost constantly since their debut album, their movement translates on their new album. "The road has rubbed off into the album," explains bassist Ted Dwane says. "It's full of aliveness…Being away so much for the last couple of years is inevitably a theme on the record," Dwane says, "because it's something that we've all shared."
"It's been tough," explains Dwane. "We're all in relationships in London, and it's hard to be away from our families. But for us, this is an absolute dream come true.”
Because of their mutual emotions of separation, fans should “expect heavier emotions this time around. You might hear a little bit more of a slight flavor of darkness on a couple songs," reveals producer Markus Dravs.
