The bass Kurt Cobain famously demolishes at the end of the 'Smells Like Teen Spriti' music video is headed for the auction block next month:



According to Art Daily, Nirvana's Krist Novoselic originally bought the 1960s Japanese Zen-On bass guitar at a local pawn shop, knowing he'd need something cheap to wreck in the video.



The destroyed bass guitar was rescued from the set by an audience extra and now it is expected to net between $24,000 - $40,000 when it goes up for auction by Christie's on November 29th.
