After a November 2012 breakup scare (when you release a statement citing 'internal discord and irreconcilable differences of ambition' for the cancellation of your tour, it's hard to not jump to conclusions about the future of the band) it would seem that Joy & John Paul of The Civil Wars are working through the drama that put an end to their touring and are releasing some new music! Cue up some new stuff featuring T-Bone Burnett below:



'Long Time Gone' is just one of fourteen new songs that the pair penned with T-Bone for the upcoming film 'A Place at the Table' - a documentary from Food, Inc. producers that explores American food and hunger issues that as Joy explains, have reached epidemic proportions:

Being a part of 'A Place at the Table' opened my eyes to an epidemic that is happening in our country right now—underneath many of our noses...It’s happening to our neighbors, to our friends, to children. It's a silent battle that can be won, if we as a nation set our minds to ending it. Linking arms with T Bone Burnett to create music for such a timely and important film as this was an honor.


Coinciding with the soundtrack's release, the full-length documentary (distributed by Magnolia Pictures) will be released on March 1st in theatres nationwide as well as on iTunes and On Demand.
