When we first heard Phillip Phillips, we jumped to the same comparisons as most: 'Whoa, that kid sounds like Dave Matthews!' It was an easy comparison to make early on and we've since discoverd that Phillip is so much more than just a Dave clone...he's a Mumford & Sons clone too! At least that's what Ben Lovett of Mumford & Sons hears.

The keyboardist for M&S admitted to Rolling Stone Magazine that he thought 'Home' was a Mumford & Sons tune when he first heard it and was left utterly confused! Can you blame him? Instrumentally speaking, 'Home' is squarly rooted in that folk revival sound and could easily be mistaken for The Lumineers or Mumford & Sons or any number of other folkie, banjo-laden bands that have cropped up since M&S opened the door with their breakout album, 2010's 'Sigh No More'. And just what do the Mumfords think of the recent acoustic movement and it's commercial potential? Here's what Ben told Rolling Stone:

The only thing that makes me a bit sad about it is that if people think that it's a good commercial move. I think that's just stupid. Because it's not about the setup. It's about the songs, how we're expressing our songs with this kind of accidental selection of instruments. That's not like a formula to go and sell records.
