Beginning at 8 a.m. today*, Cities 97 released the Cities 97 Sampler Vol. 23 exclusively at area Target stores. It sold out by 11:15 a.m., about an hour earlier than last year. The result? One hundred percent of the proceeds from the $25.97 CD of 19 Studio C performances generated a donation of $800,000 dollars for Minnesota charities.
The Cities 97 Sampler is the longest running radio music or performance compilation for charity in the country with 100% of the proceeds from sales going to Minnesota charities.
Cities 97 has been able to produce this annual CD since 1989 due to the loyal support of the artists, listeners, Target, and the many businesses that have provided pro-bono or deeply discounted services to produce the CD.
The Cities 97 Sampler Vol. 23 is proudly sponsored by Target, TCF Bank and McNally Smith School of Music.
