Ben Gibbard [of Death Cab For Cutie]
Women’s Club, Mpls/ 8:00/ $32.50/ AA
--Former Lives, Gibbard’s solo debut album, is more breezy and poppy than his main bands’ output and the lyrical content jumps around interestingly. As he puts it; “These songs span eight years, three relationships, living in two different places and drinking then not drinking.” Though he calls the songs “square pegs that did not fit for Death Cab For Cutie or The Postal Service”, they easily stand up to some of the best of his career.

400 Bar/ 8:30/ $15/ 21+

Their album, Mass Romantic, was voted the 24th best indie album of all time in a 2007 Blender magazine Reader’s Poll. He is touring in support of his brand new album, Shut Down The Streets.
