Hey Cities Listeners!

My goodness, it's been awhile since the last time we chatted. I hope everyone is having a relaxing and eventful summer so far. I honestly don't know where to start. Being an intern with Cities has been one of the most rewarding opportunites for me. I have met and established some incredible relationships with so many people, that I feel extremely fortunate to apart of the Cities community. One of my favorite events so far has to be seeing Matt Nathanson. The guy is hilarious and a phenomenal musician. The really cool thing is that he took the time to meet and greet everyone that was in attendance during his performance at the Electric Fetus in Minneapolis. Cool, right? I thought the exact same thing. Make sure to check out his new album, "Modern Love". It's awesome!

Another one of my favorite events has to be working at Oake on The Water with special performances by O.A.R. and Lissie at Admiral D's in White Bear Lake. This was the largets Oake on The Water event in history. I heard through grape vine (actually through a Cities staff member) but I figured it's a good day to give Marvin Gaye some credit. Anyway, back to my point...that there were over 4300 people in attendance. Jaw Dropping! it was insane, but couldn't have asked for a more perfect day full of music. One more thing; let me give you some very important advice. If you haven't heard or seen Lissie, you're missing out. Take the time to check out her music. Whether it's via iTunes or stopping by the record store. - She will blow yo' mind. Don't think that I forgot about O.A.R. they are simply FANTASTIC. Definitely one of the best acoustic performances I have seen. Their new album, "King" was released yesterday. It'll get you groovin' hands down! If you haven't been to any of the Oake on The Water's yet, make sure you do so. There are only 5 left!!! I promise you, you'll have a great time.

It's crazy to think that summer is soon to be closing. But that doesn't mean the music is. Check out the Cities 97 concert calender for some upcoming rockin' concerts at the Cities 97 homepage!

(Did you notice Sade and John Legend are coming to town next week? that's going to be one that I'll be reminiscing for years).

Enjoy the rest of the summer heat!
