On Thursday, Phillip Phillips returned to the familiar stage to perform his latest single, Gone, Gone, Gone.

I’m a big fan of this song. I know people make comparisons to him and Dave Matthews, and i can see the influence, for sure (the dancing feet, the eyebrow raising). But, I feel like Phillip’s got his own thing. I love that husky voice, and the feel-good messages in his songs.

He did say, later, “It’s just strange, being back in the room”, and then revealed that he hates being on live television, calling it, “terrifying”!
I didn’t know that about him. It’s kind of amazing that he was able to get through last year’s entire season.

He offered a little advice to the contestant who was voted off that night. He said, “It’s just a TV show. You have to work hard for what you want, and he could still do that.”
