I promised I would share more and more music from my personal collection, and I wrote a blog a couple of weeks ago showcasing my top 3 albums at the moment that got a lot of good feedback. Then the State Fair happened so I fell behind again. I won't be giving you anything new this time, but I want to introduce a band that has been with me a long time. Allow me to introduce you to old music, because good music is always worth discovering even if it's years later.
If you want to stir up some nostalgia in the music scene I grew up in, you simply need to drop the name Acceptance. Acceptance is a band from Seattle and after releasing a couple of EPs and doing the whole touring thing, they rapidly built a large and loyal fan base. The hardest thing to accept about Acceptance (Ha, witty!) is that they released a fantastic debut full-length and then called it quits. Before we get into the history of Acceptance even more, let's get a song in.
Alternative pop-rock at its best. Acceptance released "Phantoms" in 2005, made us fall in love with their sound, and then disbanded because their lead singer wanted to live a normal life. No one can blame him for wanting that, but it did leave us wanting more. The break up was very sudden, and had I known a break up was coming, I would have skipped my evening chemistry class to attend their final show in Minneapolis. It was the final class before an exam, so Chemistry won that night.
If there is a band that you love, make sure you go support them and see them live!
