I'm very excited to share this song with you. The video isn't spectacular, but the song carries it to the end. This is one of those songs that raised goosebumps the first time I heard it and had it on repeat a few times over. Check it out and share it with your friends!
Frank Turner always seems like one of the most genuine musicians you could ever have the pleasure of meeting. He's always upbeat, he's articulate, he seems to know what is going on in the world, and he never has an ego. I came across this great interview and thought it was worth a share.
The Mowgli's visited the ever popular PS22 Choir in New York. The PS22 Choir has nearly 80,000 subscribers on YouTube and apparently has roughly 50 million views. If you want to learn more about the PS22 Choir click HERE for their Wikipedia page.
We know The Mowgli's are generous with their time and music as we experinced with the Cities 97 Sampler this year. Watch a video of them singing "San Francisco" with a choir behind them.
PS22 have previously hosted other Cities 97 artists as well. Enter Walk The Moon.
So last week we started a new segment on the Cities 97 Morning Show called Single In The Cities and I just happen to be the first contestant for that segment. Basically, I am going to get "dares" or "challenges" that I complete every weekend to help me break out of my shell and potentially help me meet someone. To get the ball rolling, Keri set up my first challenge, but we will be looking for listener challenges for week 2. Keri dared me to go out this weekend and approach the cutest girl in the in the room. I did just that, but I saw Keri's dare and raised her many other ladies.
Here is photographic proof that I didn't wuss out!
Each person I talked to was very open to the idea and I didn't meet a single sour soul. Is this typical?
I was on such a roll I just kept bothering and bothering and bothering people. I must've been the creepiest guy in the room!
I also met 2 ladies from France that are in Minnesota to teach...well, you guessed it, French! I love meeting people from other countries because I have so many questions for them. We got into a bit of a discussion because I'm deeply curious about how Europeans view America and our international politics.
And then just when I thought the night couldn't get any better I ran into Anne Hathaway!
Okay, so that's a lie. But I bet I could convince some people with that photo that I did.
In conclusion, I think it is safe to say my Friday night didn't suck. Bring on week 2 of Single In The Cities!
The Wild Feathers helped us out with Sun Soakers, they visited us in Studio C, and most recently helped us launch Sampler 25 at the Sampler Release Party. They are always up for a chat and upbeat, so it was really exciting to see them on Conan.
