I love the 4th of July, from the fireworks, bbq’s and of course our independence there’s a LOT to celebrate!
Keep in mind this weekend, with all the loud fireworks it’s a very stressful time for your family
pet. Here are some tips for you to help your animal through this 4th of July.
-Wear your dog out before the fireworks come out. Walk/run them anything to keep the dog from
having access energy to burn when the fireworks start going off.
-Stay home with your
pet. If fireworks are scheduled near
your home, it may be best to stay with them.
-Lock down the house. Shut all the doors and windows, turn on
TV/Radio or anything that is comfortable for the animal that will drown out the
noise from Fireworks.
-Don’t force cuddling,
just sit with your dog. Fear can turn
some animals aggressive.
-Kenneling your dog may
not keep it out of trouble. A scared dog
that can not escape their kennel may chip teeth, or break nails trying to get
-Have an ID tag or
microchip before the fireworks start.
This way if the animal does break away from you, or the house you can
get it back.
