In all my years of radio and lovin music, somehow Brandi Carlile has eluded me. I'll admit at one point I'm sure I thought.....ehhh, just some chick writing sappy junk I'd have no interest in. Lucky for me I'm WAY more open minded these days and even luckier I'm at a station that supports amazing music. Well, we had Brandi Carlile in for a Studio C performance and I was absolutely WOW'ed. At one point in her poignant yet uplifting performance actually had me choked up. (Perhaps a tear or 2 ran.....yeah, me, the big tough guy....hahaha, never mind, who am I kidding with "tough). I don't know what it was about her. She's got that intangible quality that ya just can't quite put your finger on. There are lots of good or even great singer/songwriters, but Brandi is something special. Her more dirty-gritty songs channels Johnny Cash. Her softer side is like the most comfy sweater you've ever worn. If you're me about 2 weeks ago, meaning a person who isn't already on the bandwagon, I can't urge you enough to get on the wagon now.
