I've never made my bandcrush on Imagine Dragons a secret. Well, over the weekend I dove back into Imagine Dragons' EP "Continued Silence". That's the first music I heard from the guys. With the success they've had, perhaps you're first experience with the band has been their debut album "Night Visions" and that's totally sweet. That's definitely been where all the promotional push has been aimed. My point for bringing up "Continued Silence" is it contains 2 songs that got left behind, that didn't end up on "Night Visions". "Round & Round" and "My Fault", so I wanted to encourage you to check those songs out as they're great in their own right.
I chose to post "My Fault" here because, #1 - the following video performance is fantastic. I think it displays the versatility in Dan Reynolds' voice, more of his tender side. #2 - On a somewhat chilly night in Omaha back in April of 2012, I got to see one of the best shows I saw in 2012. Imagine Dragons played this small-ish club called "The Waiting Room". There were approximately 150 people there and I can't really put my finger on why, but something special happened that night. There was just this energy in the air. I've talked to others who were there and they agreed. I thought it was just me as it was the first I got to see this band who I had already been in love with for a couple months. Anyway, it was just an incredible night that solidified my bandcrush. Ok, back to the song "My Fault". They played the song that night. Dan's wife was in attendance. She was pregnant with their new baby that just came back in August. My wife nudged me, bringing my attention to the 2 of them. Dan was singing the song, locked in on his wife. He did not break eye contact with her the entire song. It gave us both chills and it definitely contributed to the intangible vibe in the air that night.
