On the eve of Grammy's weekend.....I get the same reaction every year.....chuckling to myself. Why? Cuz the Grammy's are a joke. I'm not saying that to be elitest music snob jerk guy, take a look at some of the categories and who's in them.....take a look at who's won and who hasn't. Heck, as Brian Oake pointed out, take a look at the list of artists who haven't ever won a Grammy.....Led Zeppelin, Jimi Hendrix, Diana Ross, The Beach Boys, Queen, Janis Joplin, Chuck Berry and that's just SOME. Need I say more? Ok, I will say more, none of those legendary icons have won, but the Baha Men have. You know, "Who Let The Dogs Out". Yep.
With all that.....I present to you, the Biggest Grammy Blunders......
1992 - Best Rock Song......
Nope, it wasn't Nirvana. Not the band who pushed Boyz 2 Men out of the charts and changed the landscape of music from that point forward.......
Nope, it wasn't this......
It was this......
Really? A re-recording of a song, just unplugged? Blunder.
In 2000, Radiohead released "Ok Computer". Still my favorite album of theirs. Enimen released "The Marshall Mathers LP", which was brilliant. But, guess what? Those albums didn't win Album Of The Year in 2000. It was this.....

Steely Dan. BLUNDER.
I ran out of time to finish this earlier, so I'm going to rush this now to get it up before the big show. The other 2 blunders were.....
1988, Metallica at the HEIGHT of their popularity snubbed in the "Best Metal Performance".....cuz you know, THIS just screams "Best Metal Performance".......
Jethro Tull.....ugh.
Lastly, 1966......"Best Rock & Roll Recording".....a category that no longer exists, probably cuz the Grammy peeps screwed this up so badly.....oh wait, if that were the case the awards wouldn't even happen. They could've chosen the Beach Boys OR The Beatles......but, yep, they didn't. Personally, I would've selected the Beach Boys for "Good Vibrations", but I certainly couldn't have argued with The Beatles "Eleanor Rigby"......someone thought the right answer, though, was something called Winchester Cathedral......
