Imagine Dragons were FINALLY back. This time at Roy Wilkins, after 2 Dragons sanctioned official shows at the Varsity Theater (and not including the Basilica Block Party 2012). A show that sold out in minutes, really could've probably been at Target Center, had as much build up and hype as any show this year.
Of course.............the Dragons came out and delivered from the first note. Their biggest stage show, tons of lights, more drums than ever. I know this band inside and out, love them to pieces, have since day one.....however, I'm terrible about describing a show, putting into words the emotions I feel and etc at a great rock show. SO, if you'd like an incredible review of the show.....check out the Star Tribune's Jon Bream's fantastic write up here.
My ONLY knock on this show is......even though I loved it and so many clearly did as the buzz has been insanely positive. This show didn't capture the same energy as was there in the early shows I saw. I don't fault the Dragons for this, rather the venue. Mostly, it's size. It's just hard to match the raw energy of a smaller club like the Triple Rock, The Varsity Theater and The Waiting Room in Omaha (where I first saw the guys in front of, roughly, 100).
On to some images and videos.......first my images......
Before the madness.....
Le Dragons take the stage after about a minute of percussion into the uptempo "Round & Round", find it on their 'Continued Silence' EP
Dan almost looks like he's praying to the drum God's in front of his large bass drum built by locals, Infinity Drumworks!
A little grainy....plucked from the Imagine Dragons Instagram account.....
Now.....on to YOUR submissions.......this one, compliments of @barrus_kait
