Known to me only as "YouTube user iProjectAtlas", this dude is incredible. What a tremendously selfless act.......
I'm pretty sure there isn't a person on Earth who hasn't heard the "Some Nights" song by Fun. My Grandma probably hasn't heard it, but otherwise we're good.
Well, hearing it over the weekend, for some random reason I got to thinkin about the different sounds represented and what artists might have inspired the global super smash.
Then I took that thought a step further and came up with this new blog entry, the "Song Blender". Take a bunch of influences (or ingredients) and blend them up to discover a new song.
For the first Song Blender, we're gonna work in reverse though. I'm giving you the results, then picking out all the "ingredients" that make Fun.'s "Some Nights" what it is. Of course, a key ingredient of any song is the artist who actually creates it, but there are always influences.
Now to arrive at "Some Nights".......first we add.......
Then, add a cup of this.......
Lastly, for some spice, we must add a pinch of this.......
As my Norwegian ancestors would've said, Uff da namen! Stumbled upon a new Imagine Dragons song. HUGE beats, almost has a "march" to it. Loaded with grit. Fantastic lyrics, as always. You'll find this song on the Ironman 3 soundtrack, which looks pretty solid. Just posted another blog about the Great Gatsby soundtrack......are we maybe going to get a run of soundtracks that aren't throw away's?
Check out Imagine Dragons' "Ready Aim Fire"
Remember when soundtracks were THE thing?! Artists strived to land on them, music listens clammered to get their hands on them. I don't remember the last soundtrack I, or anyone, cared that much about.
WELL, the concept for the music accompanying The Great Gatsby, if nothing else, has my curiosity absolutely piqued!
Baz Luhrman's projects (most notably Romeo + Juliet & Moulin Rouge) have always been imaginative and that includes the soundtracks. For The Great Gatsby he's taken current names, such as Florence + The Machine, Jack White, Lana Del Rey and Gotye and blended their modern sound with old Jazz Age.
So far, what I've heard, has all been super cool!
Also included on the soundtrack is Emeli Sande and a really unique take on Beyonce's "Crazy In Love".......check it out!
This biker dude is a pretty standup fella. Don't have a real name, but on YouTube he goes by royaljordanian
Here is the infamous shot of my pinky....my swollen, super sore, result of trying to show off for my 8 year old niece pinky.
OUCHIE! It looks like a thumb!
