Not too much to add to this other than I'm floored by her ability at a whopping 12 years old. I think at 12 I was taking "Break Dancing" lessons. Jasmine Thompson is karate chopping fantastic covers on YouTube. Check'em out.......
Bastille - "Pompeii"
Miley Cyrus - "Wrecking Ball"
Passenger - "Let Her Go"
So, perhaps these two become a professional duo? They're already joined at the hip. He's a talented creative goofball, she's just flat out for real. Her voice is over the top good. Of course, they are Casey Abrams and Haley Reinhart.
They turn a song that I typically don't care for, into something I actually really like! This is really good. That song is "Sail" by Awolnation
Give it a go.....
It's tough to look at this pic without getting nostalgic and that gets me sad. In this picture, about 2000 is me between my Grandpa and Grandma.
Cancer got my Grandpa later that year. He was one of my heroes. One of the people that made me think to myself.....If I could be just a little like him, I'd be doing pretty good.
It is in his honor, Ordell Cole, that I am taking part in the Minnesota Wild's #Movember campaign to raise awareness and funds for cancers affecting men. PLEASE click here and donate whatever you can so we can hopefully, someday, find a cure, if not give men fighting the good fight the best care possible.
Make a donation for your Grandpa, or Dad, or Brother, friend, or someone you don't know and you just want this wretched disease to go back into the hole it came out of. Donate here, now, please.
You think this dude, Darren, is just some silly clown getting WAY too much attention on the interwebs (close to a million views) for making some stupid video.....well, ok, that might be partially true, but I'm here to show you how skilled this kid is.
Check it out!
Ok, now watch me try.....yikes......
I know NOTHING about this Impractical Jokers show, but with bits like this, perhaps I should. As always the Dragon fella's are as good natured as it gets.
This. Is. Hilarious. AND, hilariously embarrassing.
I'm obviously a proud Papa. I hope this doesn't come off as self serving. I put this together for Elsie, and Spencer and myself. It's been done since her Bday back on 10/18. I debated sharing it.
Ultimately, I decided to share it because so many of you have been there with us since the VERY beginning. So many have been there lending us unbelievable support through some incredibly tough times. I still get overcome by emotion, from time to time, even while I type this, when I think of the support we got from people we barely know. I guess all of that is why I decided to share this.
I think it's set to a gorgeous song, fittingly by my guys Pearl Jam. The song is "Future Days" from their new album 'Lightning Bolt'. Which song to use for this came under heavy scrutiny from both me and Spencer. Hahaha. Had to be the PERFECT song. (Matt Hires' song "Signal In The Sky" was a very close second by the way).
Anyway, I hope you enjoy. We have so much love for everyone who rallied around our little girl during her first year on this crazy planet.
Thank you again! Time to start looking forward to some amazing future days ahead of us.
Holy buckets.....in our old Maple Grove house on Orleans Lane in the Boundary Creek neighborhood. My little brother is clearly E.T. and I'm a very frightnening and loose interpretation of Dracula.....I guess.
I think the BRIGHT GREEN hoodie is a nice touch.
I LOVE this song. You diggin it? I've never been a big fan, but I always take notice when a band makes an effort to change things up a bit. I think The Fray have done that here. Plus, this lyric video is super cool. It makes the song feel even more frantic than it is.
I love the contrast of this song. It sounds a bit angsty, yet it's about love conquering all. At least that's my take.
Walk Off The Earth have quickly become one of my very faves. The songs are positive, upbeat, clever, well crafted jams. PLUS, all that comes with Walk Off The Earth is so witty and entertaining.
The only thing, for me, that's been missing is a proper live date here in the Twin Cities. Well, that's been solved!!! SO excited to share.....
NOW, how about a couple new videos.....the first is a proper, official video for their track "Gang Of Rhythm" (by the way, "rhythm" is an oddly spelled word). This vid made me think Wizard Of Oz meets O Brother, Where Art Thou? meets Dukes Of Hazzard.....of course my boy, Taylor, plays the Sheriff.
VW Beetle-centric version, keep your eye's peeled for my "Brother in Beards" Taylor. His appearance is brief, but brilliant.
