When it comes to being a music fan, for me, the music itself always comes first. Still, I often find myself captivated by an only slightly above average song if it is paired with an incredible video. Many seem to consider the 'music video' as a thing dying, dead or irrelevant, an anachronistic form of expression whose time has come and gone. I couldn't disagree more strongly. Video is a powerful medium and when paired with a great song, well, I personally find few art forms more compelling.

I stumbled across this video quite by accident yesterday and have since watched it a half dozen times. It is a seasonally appropriate music video for the song Winter Trees by The Staves, an English band comprised of three sisters. They have opened for likes of The Civil Wars and Bon Iver. I like their music. I love this video. I hope you do, too.

P.S. I love to hear about how others see the world, so if you have any thoughts (good, bad or indifferent) about the song or the video, please share them in the 'comments' section just below. Thanks.
