The Cities' 97 invited 13 special artists to appear on The Cities' Sampler. Their compositions reflect the wide variety of musical styles that listeners of The Cities' 97 have come to expect when they tune to 97.1 on the FM dial.

Net proceeds from the sale of The Cities' Sampler cassettes and compact discs go to benefit The Minnesota Food Shelf Association (MFSA) to assist needy Minnesotans. MFSA is a statewide coalition of food shelves working to help coordinate efforts among the State's more than 300 food shelves.
