The Sparks Brothers Documentary from Edgar Wright Is Out Today!

I love a good music doc. Getting the back story and behind-the-scenes insight to a favorite band or artist is always fascinating to me, and today we get a good one.

For more than 50 years, brothers Ron and Russell Mael have been delighting and confounding the musical public. Their band, Sparks, while never more than a cult band here in the US is considered genuinely iconic in the UK. They were there as modern music become ever more modern, having had a major influence on Glam Rock, New Wave and Synth Pop. They have recorded 25 albums, always with their signature quirky, outsider approach in place. They are a band that everyone should know more about. Luckily, here's your chance.

'The Sparks Brothers' is reaching theaters today. Directed by Edgar Wright (Baby Driver, Scott Pilgrim) brings us this insightful look at a truly fascinating band. In addition to numerous interview with and performance clips of the Mael Brothers, the film also features fans of the band like Beck, Flea, Mike Myers and Neil Gaiman. This one is definitely worth your time. -Brian
